OUR TEACHERS
Michael Burnham has practiced mindful meditation for fifty years. As he closed a successful business career, he began training with the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness and was credentialed to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) in 2015. He has been teaching MBSR and mindfulness workshops since.
His business resume includes being co-founder and CEO of My Next Phase; partner in PlumTree Ventures; CEO of Lewis Supply Company, which grew from a single office to having 22 branches and two international subsidiaries; and partner with Premium Products Sales Corporation, where he helped launch the likes of Perrier, Chipwich, NAPA Naturals and an assortment of other domestic and international brands.
A C.P.A., Michael earned his Master of Science in Accounting at the Northeastern University Graduate School of Professional Accounting.

Chanda Murphy, PhD, received her doctorate in Experimental Psychology from the University of Memphis with a concentration in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Her applied work with a variety of teams and organizations ranges from helping to mitigate stress and burnout to improving internal communication, cooperation and culture. She has spent the past 15 years as a professor at the graduate and postgraduate levels and continues to conduct research on mindfulness interventions for both students and corporations. Chanda also works with local schools in the Memphis area, teaching effective social emotional learning and mindfulness skills to children.
Chanda also earned her RYT 200-hour yoga certification and completed Cognitively-Based Compassion Training (CBCT) with Dr. Lobsang Tenzin Negi.
